Why close the City Council pools? All the reasons here

 IMG_7929

After the meeting held yesterday with those affected by the closure of the heated pools, the City of Alba de Tormes sent a statement to the media to explain to the people of Alba de Tormes the reasons for the closure of the heated pools. According to the consistory for the winter season losses amounted to 106,000 euros and explains that this is not the only measure of cost reduction.

PRESS

WHY CAN NOT OPEN THE POOL IN WINTER?

a) The City’s economic situation requires it. When this government team took over the mayor’s financial situation was as follows:

€ 900,000 of the bullring
€ 230,000 pools
€ 700,000 in credits short
€ 800,000 billing credit for late payments

Total

€ 2,630,000

In the current situation

total credits carryforwards amount to the amount of € 1,800,000 in its entirety.

Keep in mind that the average annual income has declined since 2007 in a million per year on average approx.

b) Given the cuts to come and the inevitable reduction in revenue the city of Alba de Tormes has taken the following steps:

-No political office of the City charges a penny for their work regardless of their dedication.

-have been left out of service 25% or so of night lighting points.

The expenses for

celebrations have been reduced by over 70% compared to what was spent the last seven or eight years.
He has eliminated the cost of private agency staff.

-subsidies have been reduced.

-allocations have been reduced to companies

-No swimming pools open in winter for its excessive cost.

‘They’ve raised rates of water and debris from the least expensive way possible for low income families.

-The permanent staff employed in the pools has been likened to other city departments, covering positions have been filled by temporary staff.

c) the money available to the Administration “to no one”, the theory of a minister of the previous term, is simply a fallacy. Money is obviously the taxpayer and the administration must “manage”. Any costs good or bad, any investment good or bad, reasonable or not any credit, will pay one way or another the taxpayer. For this reason the “administrator” should make necessary investments, sustainable and, if possible, productive. In the case of the heating of swimming pools called a credit of € 420,000 with two years grace period and ten of amortization will be completed pay next year and taxpayers have paid including interest, neither more nor less than € 520,000, which for a population of 5,000 residents is an amount of 100 € for a neighbor (newborn, young, old or disabled) and for each average family (marriage and two children) 400 €.

d) Under these circumstances and added that the difficulties will be presented in the next few years the City Council believes it is appropriate to raise taxes or fees to keep the pools open during the winter at the expense of all taxpayers. Therefore the decision not to open the pools in winter and during the time incidentally that this economic crisis we are facing require us to do so. But this City Council has no objection to reach agreement even with the users of the heated pools during the months from October to May inclusive, for use provided such use does not have any cost to taxpayers.

be made available to affected residents for a letter to the Junta de Castilla y Leon and the role of newspapers in the province

neighbors of Alba de Tormes and more specifically the twenty families receiving the 20 subsidized housing located in the Salitre continue another year without surrender and the delay already exceeds 5 years.

Coinciding with the return of keys 43 subsidized housing for the above promotion, a September 2, 2004, the then Director General of Housing, Urban and Regional Planning Board, said Javier Arribas ” would have to wait until 2006 for the relevant award and delivery of keys. “

A delay that lasted until the year 2009 due to a problem of unevenness in a street adjacent to the homes, which had not been planned initially. The problem lay in the street level, far below the level reached by the gates of homes which did not allow normal access to the same owners.

The problem is aggravated further because from mid-2011, twenty applicants know that this house will become your property.

    An investment

    2,044,353 euros, unused

homes are meant for the regional entity investment of 2,044,353 euros and will cost between 46,737 to its grantees and 35,271 euros depending on the number of bedrooms. In all, 18 of them have three bedrooms with an area of 82 square meters and the remaining two, one for the disabled, with 61 square meters. In addition to storage all have square-foot garage.

fixed selling price per square foot amounts to EUR 546 327.60 in housing and the attic. 11 houses will be given to single parents with children in their care and recent or future marriages, two pressing needs for families with a Disabled and six other cases not specified.

    A nonsense

    paid by successful bidders

While twenty families could be already seated and enjoying a home that you own. The Board remains unmoved. Many people complain of lack of information, and that the City Council refers to the Board and Board of sources consulted nobody gives a solution.

    Why not give social housing

    There is no official response

but the rumor spreads through the streets of the ducal village points to an alleged non-payment to the company.
